Hello Ms J.

You sure know how to challenge me don’t you? First... whatever you do, make sure your husband does NOT see you in a “skirt swimsuit”. There is only so much Viagra can do girlfriend!

Second... I have some great tips for your "exit muscles" (the last ones people see when you leave the room) to look presentable. If you are really strict, you may look so good, your husband won’t want you to exit the room at all on this year's vacation!

A few years ago, I needed to get ready for a swimsuit photo shoot at the exclusive Beverly Hills Celebrity hotel LeMontrose. I was not happy with my "rear view" so I put together this emergency bikini butt regime. It worked beautifully. After working my plan, my legs were more defined, my butt was tighter and, shall I say, high and lifted up. I felt great at the photo shoot. My results were validated when the rapper (name withheld) who was not in need of a tan, kept coming out by the pool and accidentally dropping his D&G sunglasses every other minute. I think I must have looked great to him. He was sneaking a look at my "assets" as he was pretending to recover his D&G’s.

Okay Ms. J. get out your highlighter, print this page and highlight the tips you will follow diligently, even while you are on vacation. That’s right. The last thing you want to do is look great the first day, then go on a “I’m on vacation” binge fest and bloat up like those cute little gold fish snacks.

1. Get Mentally and Spiritually ready. Center yourself. Prayers, affirmations and meditation are great ways to relax and make the preparation for your vacation and a fun and exciting challenge.

2. Start drinking at least 10 cups of water a day right away. The last 3 - 4 days I will add in a cup of herbal diuretic tea a day. The days when I'm drinking the tea I cut my water in half.

3. Do sixty minutes of cardio each day at a low-moderate intensity. You will want to do this for at least two weeks before your vacation, or as much time as you have before you leave. You can break this up into two sessions if you need to, but one long session is optimal. My Swimsuit Shape Up Collection is a great way to get that cardio in each day. Don't balk, we're getting ready for vacation here!

4. Sculpt and Tone every other day, do a full body workout with light-weights, with special emphasis on plies’, lunges, floorwork - leg lifts and donkey kicks. 3 sets of 25 reps per side of each exercise. Do your abdominals every other day as well. Figure out your three favorite abdominal exercises and review last week’ s abdominal hollowing tips and apply them.

5. Do not eat after 7:00 PM. That means NOTHING at 7:00PM. Water or tea but no calories. This is a big key!

6. Eat clean staying away from salt, sugar, desserts, ice cream and dairy. My Quick Start Fat Loss Program is perfect way to diet for optimal health and conditioning. If you don't have it already, pick one up today!

7. Increase Low Glycemic Index foods which help with weight release such as cabbage, onions, broccoli, cooked tomatoes, beans, wheat and certain fruit.

8. AVOID ALL HIGH Glycemic Foods. I have an extensive list in my Quick Start Fat Loss Program. Do NOT eat these foods. They could turn to fat faster than butter.

9. Eat 4-5 meals a day slightly smaller than my normal servings. Go easy on the condiments. For the last three days during the diuretic phase, omit any high salt food, condiments and drink distilled water.

10. Finally use a series of Herbal Baths to smooth and tighten the skin around your legs, hips and buns. Take 2 - 3 baths a week for 30 minutes each. You'll need the downtime with all that cardio and sculpting! In addition to working on any remaining cellulite areas, the baths will help detoxify your skin and improve your overall complexion.

Okay girlfriend, you have some great tips for getting you’re a** ready for your revealing beach unveiling. You can do it. If you start today, you can possibly lose up to an inch or even more in your hips and thighs for that awesome vacation. Have a great time, and send me some photos!

Imagine browsing the stores looking for fun new fashions, checking the fit, feeling the softness, checking the tag to find “Made with 100% cotton, grown with 1/3 pound of pesticides, colored with reactive dyes fixed with heavy metals and produced by children in unsanitary, low-wage sweatshop conditions.” Labeling standards don’t yet require that information, and nobody is offering it up voluntarily, but the reality is that the latest trendy top you are looking at just might fit the bill.

For health and social reasons, many consumers today have made the switch to cotton from petroleum-based synthetic fibers such as polyester, but the fabric of our lives is not necessarily a choice without consequences. Globally, 25% of insecticide use is attributable to cotton production. In addition, conventional growing of cotton makes heavy use of pesticides and fertilizers. These insecticides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers then seep into our soil and waterways. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has deemed seven of the top 15 pesticides used on U.S. cotton crops to be potential or known human carcinogens.

Much of the apparel in the US is made in sweatshops where workers labor in unsafe, unsanitary conditions, are paid wages so low they must struggle to provide for their families, and children are exploited.

Fortunately, there are alternatives. Today’s fashion market has a wealth of environmentally and socially responsible options, such as organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, soy, and organic wool.

Certified organic cotton is grown with consideration for the natural biodiversity, without the use of harmful pesticides and fertilizers. The advantages go beyond the health and environmental benefits though. Organic cotton fibers tend to be longer-staple, producing stronger softer yarns, and, thus longer-lasting softer garments.

Let's not stop with organic cotton. Hemp is another natural fiber beginning to blossom in the eco-fashion industry. Hemp is most often grown without herbicides, fungicides or pesticides. With fibers longer, stronger and more absorbent than cotton, hemp produces strong yarns and garments that last. Naturally resistant to bacteria and UV light, hemp is a great choice for socks, shoes, and apparel.

And how will it look in your closet? The days of loose hemp anti-styles are no longer. Today’s hemp wear has its place in cutting edge design, knits that hug the body, linen-quality dresses that flatter the figure, and sturdy canvas shoes.

So don't be discouraged that 100% cotton isn't such a 100% natural choice. Today we have many options in eco-friendly and socially responsible apparel without compromising fashion. Fashion is about finding your own style. Shouldn’t your style be in line with your values?

How to Care for Your Gold Jewelry

Gold is a very versatile metal and in most cases can be worn on a daily basis. However, there are some "do's" and "don'ts" when it comes to gold.

"Do" take your gold jewelry off when you take a bath or clean your house. Even though soap will not hurt your gold jewelry it will leave a fine scum on it which will make it appear dull. This film can be cleaned off, but removing your gold jewelry will be a lot easier!

"Don't" wear your gold jewelry, especially white gold, if you plan to go swimming or get into that hot tub that contains chlorine. Chlorine can permanently change the color of your gold. It can turn white gold yellow. Remember to also be careful when using those household products containing chlorine bleach.

"Do" keep your gold jewelry clean. You can purchase a commercial cleaner or you can clean your gold by soaking in a solutions of one part ammonia and six parts water. Soak for about 1 minute then use a small soft brush, like a toothbrush to scrub lightly. Rinse in warm water and dry with a soft cloth or chamois. (Soaking in a glass of water with a denture tablet works well also.)

"Don't" use harsh or abrasive cleaning solutions on your gold jewelry. Gold can be fairly soft and may get scratched.

"Do" take your gold jewelry off when taking antibiotics. Strange as it seems some prescription drugs can alter the chemical properties of your sweat and cause tarnishing.

Here's a trick - lay your gold necklace, gold chain, gold bracelet on a plate or piece of wax paper. Apply a drop of household or salad oil on the knot and use two straight pins to pull the knot out. Need to get the oil off? Dip your gold jewelry in some rubbing alcohol, rinse with warm water, and dry with a soft cloth or tissue.

Attract a Special Man's Interest For the Holidays!

The holiday season is fast approaching. If you're like too many single women, you may dread the coming flurry of social events because you don't relish being a third wheel among a sea of seemingly happy couples.

That's a mistake. When you feel less-than-fantastic about yourself, you give off a vibe, and it's not attractive. Stop perceiving yourself a social liability. Recast yourself as the star you are: the exciting, confident, just-happens-to-be-available woman everyone wants to know.

How?

Start by writing a list of your good qualities. Bring to mind the compliments you've received about your sense of humor, your great taste in clothes, your ability to analyze P/L ratios, or your gift for cooking. Whatever! Jot down the ones that resonate the most with you. Tape the list to your bathroom mirror and read it every morning when you brush your teeth.

If you remind yourself frequently of the things that make you special, you will begin to believe that you are special. And once you get that, everybody else will get it, too. Then watch out!

Don't go into debt, but do buy yourself a couple of items that will make you feel spectacular, perhaps a glittery pair of earrings (every store from Saks to Target is flooded with great costume pieces), a velvet shawl, or a strappy pair of shoes.

A week before the Christmas party or Thanksgiving dinner, start visualizing how you want the event to go for you. Feel it. See it. Smell it. Hear it. Taste it. Remember, what you think about, you bring about. Write the word "Visualize" on your to-do list. Visualizing circumstances as you want them will be critical to your success.

A great pair of shoes really finishes an outfit, so make sure you appropriate footwear. A pair of black pumps is a staple that you can’t live without- they work great with a suit for work or with dark denim and a sparkly top for evening. Some other great shoes to invest in: a pair of classic boots, an open toed pump, and flirty flats. A great pair of strappy sandals for evening, and a stack- heeled boot for walking in should round out your shoe wardrobe.

If you are going to hand over your hard earned dollars for an expensive designer piece, make sure it’s a classic that will transcend trends and last more than one season. Think Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Ferragamo for shoes, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes for bags; Dior shades.

It’s all about the attitude:

Whether your outfit cost 100 dollars or 1,000 dollars, the trick to looking you spent a fortune is all in how you wear those duds. Christmas is only a couple of months away and perfume, as a gift, seems to be a particular favourite amongst shoppers. It is a personal gift which shows that you have put some thought into what you bought the recipient. In summer try the crispier more fruity fragrances for a lighter scented option. In autumn as the weather drops slightly move towards the warmer earthier scents for a great pick me up. And in winter – opt for a more aromatic fragrance featuring oriental, woody or even rich vanilla tones to warm you up.

And if all else fails then selecting a box of chocolates might be the easier option!

I've worn plus size clothing most of my adult life. And let me tell you, clothes shopping has really been an agravating experience to say the least. You go to the mall and visit the one store that carries sizes more than 1X. You browse the racks and find a nice pink blouse you'd really love to buy, and they DO have plus sizes, but YOUR SIZE PINK BLOUSE IS MISSING. ARRGH!

Or, you might find a pretty black bra that you'd love to have, but they are out of the 42DD. Plus size clothing can be Pure Frustration.

At first glance it looks like the big and beautiful store has a lot of items, but when you take into account that each item probably is displayed with 4-6 sizes, there really isn't that much in one store. Even the big chain stores like Target, Walmart and K-Mart really have a limited supply of plus size clothing. And most of it isn't very stylish.

And why do all other stores always put the women's plus size clothing section right next to the Maternity section? I'm offended by that as a large woman, and I'd be offended by that as well if I were a pregnant woman. You have to make sure that you aren't checking out the clothing that belongs in the maternity section.

Speaking of maternity wear, I know from personal experience that finding maternity clothes as a larger woman is murder! I seems that only the skinny girls get pregnant as far as the clothing manufacturers think. You have to find a special store that carries nothing but plus size maternity clothing, and lots of it.

To add to the frustration, they put the Petites section on the other side of the Women's section. Come on...no big woman wants to shop next to all those perky little skinny girls.

It's all so darn frustrating. But there is a solution. Shop online. More items, and more sizes, and total freedom to choose in your own home. An online store doesn't have space restrictions and can display a thousand items with relative ease.
